The most common masters degrees in the field of criminal justice are:

There are similarities among these degrees and all can be found among the top criminal justice programs in the field. It is a good idea to consider the type of organization where you would like to work and investigate whether such organizations prefer one of the above degrees. The MCJ and MSCJ tend to focus on post-baccalaureate education in specialized areas. Online schools offering these degrees are helpful for working criminal justice professionals with a bachelor's degree seeking to join highly specialized organizations. The MACJ tends to offer programs that enable students with baccalaureate degrees in related fields to enroll and complete this degree designed for students wishing to pursue research in the field or graduate studies beyond the MA level. The MPA, MS/AJS and MSCJL all tend to focus on administration, leadership and management.
